Between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 a.m., seven days a week, your call will be directed to the CHOA Advice Line. A trained pediatric nurse will be able to assist you with your concerns. There will always be a physician on-call, if needed. If you have a minor emergency, but feel your child should be seen prior to office hours, proceed to your nearest Pediatric Urgent Care Center.

Emergency Room or Urgent Care?
For conditions that are not life threatening but you can't wait until your pediatrician's office opens, consider an Urgent Care Center. The biggest advantage of the urgent care is avoiding the Emergency Rooms where waiting times can be long due to care being delivered to critically ill patients. Learn more.
