What if I don't have insurance?
If your child is uninsured, please refer to the Medicaid page to learn how to apply. Your child may be eligible. If you don't have insurance, all charges are to be paid the day of service. If you pay in full the day or your visit, a discount will be applied.
Do I need my insurance card every time my child has an appointment?
Yes, and please make sure Cumberland Pediatrics or one of its providers is listed as your child's primary care provider.
Do I have to pay a co-payment every time my child is seen?
Yes, co-payments are paid before your child can be seen, remember this is your agreement with your insurance company. We will file your insurance and bill you for any additional monies that are not covered.
Some plans do not require co-pays on a well visit/physical. However, if other problems are addressed during a well visit a copay may be required by the insurance company.
What if Cumberland Pediatrics is "out of network"?
We will be happy to see your child regardless of whether we are "in or out of your network". Check with your insurance company and they can help guide you through this process.
Do I have to pay for letters or forms?
We do not charge for forms filled out or signed if they are brought with you during a well-child check-up. Please click here for the list of forms we do charge for.
Do you charge for telephone calls?
Some insurance companies are now paying for provider phone calls to patients, we reserve the right to bill your insurance for consultative calls.
When you call our office with a non-urgent problem you will have the option of requesting an appointment, speaking with a nurse, or receiving telephone care from one of our providers. There will be a charge for the telephone call if you speak with a provider and if the call does not result in an office visit for the same medical problem in the next 24 hours OR is unrelated to an office visit from the previous 7 days. The telephone care fee will be less than an office visit depending on the complexity of the problem. These fees may or may not be covered by your insurance.
Do you have a cancellation fee?
The number of patients at Cumberland Pediatrics is continuing to grow. Due to the continued growth, we ask that you be considerate of our busy schedule and appointments. Failure to do so prevents us from providing an appointment that could have been used for another patient and you will be charged a $25 fee. Appointments cancelled before the 24-hour period will not be charged a fee. This fee is not paid by your insurance.
What form of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, checks and cash.
What if I have a hardship and can't pay at my visit?
If you have extenuating circumstances that prevents you from paying your bill, please check with our billing department. We will be happy to make reasonable payment arrangements.
